वैश्विक शिक्षक, श्री रणजीतसिंह डिसले

3 दिसंबर 2020, इस दिन सभी भारतीयों के मन आनंद से भर गए और मस्तक अभिमान से तन गये। इस दिन एक भारतीय शिक्षक श्री. रणजीत सिंह डिसले को वैश्विक शिक्षक पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। श्री. रणजीत सिंह डिसले महाराष्ट्र के सोलापूर जिले के परतेवाडी गांव में जिल्हा परिषद के स्कूल में प्राथमिक कक्षाओं को पढाते है। सारे ग्रामवासी उन्हे "डिसले गुरूजी" कहकर संबोधित करते हैं। ऐसा क्या किया होगा डिसले गुरूजी ने जो उन्हें आंतर राष्ट्रीय स्तर का यह पुरस्कार मिला, यह जानने से पहले, वैश्विक शिक्षक पुरस्कार के बारे में जानतें हैं।

वैश्विक शिक्षक पुरस्कार 

युनेस्को और वारके फाउंडेशन द्वारा यह पुरस्कार शिक्षण क्षेत्र में असाधारण योगदान देने वाले उत्कृष्ट  शिक्षक को दिया जाता है। वारके फाउंडेशन का ब्रिदवाक्य है 'Changing life through education.' शिक्षकों की क्षमता एवं गुणवत्ता को बढ़ावा देकर विश्व के प्रत्येक बच्चे तक उत्तम शिक्षण पहुँचाना, यही वारके फाउंडेशन का उद्देश्य है।

वारके फाउंडेशन के संस्थापक सन्नी वारके युनेस्को के सदभावना राजदूत है। उनके माता-पिता शिक्षक थे। वारके फाउंडेशन युनेस्को, यूनिसेफ तथा अन्य कई वैश्विक संस्थाओं की भागीदार है। विश्व भर के शिक्षकों की सार्वजनिक अवस्था का सर्वेक्षण करने के बाद, 2014 से दस लाख डॉलर का वैश्विक शिक्षक पुरस्कार दिया जाने लगा।

रणजीत सिंह डिसले: परिचय 

रणजीत सिंह डिसले के पिता सेवानिवृत्त मुख्याध्यापक है और माँ गृहिणी। उनकी इच्छा आय टी इंजीनियर बनने की थी। सोलापुर के इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज में उनका दाखला भी हुआ था परंतु वहाँ होने वाली रैगिंग के कारण उन्होंने इंजीनियरिंग छोड कर डि. एड. में प्रवेश लिया। ढाई वर्ष का कोर्स करने के बाद उनकी सोलापुर जिला परिषद के परतेवाडी प्राथमिक विद्यालय में शिक्षक के पद पर नियुक्ति हुई। उस समय उनकी उम्र थी केवल 20 वर्ष।

शिक्षा के प्रसार के लिए डिसले गुरूजी के प्रयास 

परतेवाडी प्राथमिक विद्यालय की दशा अत्यंत दयनीय थी। ना तो ढंग की इमारत थी ना तो विद्यार्थियों की उपस्थिति। उस वर्ष अपने जन्मदिन के उपहार स्वरूप अपने पिताजी से उन्होंने एक लैपटॉप माँग लिया। इस लैपटॉप पर वे विद्यार्थियों को उनकी पसंदीदा फिल्में दिखाने लगे जिससे विद्यार्थी स्कूल की तरफ आकर्षित होने लगे। जैसे जैसे विद्यार्थियों की उपस्थिति बढने लगी, डिसले गुरूजी ने पाठ्यपुस्तकों के पाठ और कविताओं के ऑडियो और विडियो बनाकर उन्हें दिखाना शुरू किया ताकि पढाई में विद्यार्थियों को रूचि उत्पन्न हो।

लोगों को लड़कियों को पढाने में कोई दिलचस्पी नहीं थी अतः डिसले गुरूजी ने घर घर जाकर लड़कियों को स्कूल भेजने के लिए लोगों को प्रेरित किया। पिछले दस वर्षों में लड़कियों में शिक्षा का प्रमाण बढने के कारण परतेवाडी तथा आसपास के गांवों में बालविवाह का दर घट गया है।

अलार्म ऑन, टीवी ऑफ योजना के तहत परतेवाडी में रोज शाम सात बजे एक अलार्म बजता है। यह समय होता है पालकों को बच्चों के साथ बैठ कर डिसले गुरूजी द्वारा दिए हुए कार्य करने का जो बच्चों की पढ़ाई के साथ ही जुड़े होते है। इसप्रकार अनपढ़ पालकों को भी बच्चों की पढ़ाई का महत्व समझ आया।

दुकानों में वस्तुओं पर लगे बार कोड देख कर डिसले गुरूजी को पाठ्यपुस्तकों पर क्यू आर कोड की कल्पना सूझी। उन्होंने अंग्रेजी किताबों का मातृभाषा में अनुवाद करके साथ में क्यू आर कोड की तकनीक भी जोड़ दी ताकि विद्यार्थी विडियो लेक्चर अटेण्ड कर सकें।    ये पुस्तकें पहले प्रायोगिक तौर पर 300 स्कूलों में उपयोग में लाई गयी। डिसले गुरूजी द्वारा बनाई गई क्यू आर कोडेड किताबें आज 11 देशों में 100 मिलियन से अधिक बच्चों द्वारा उपयोग की जाती हैं। अब तो महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने और NCERT ने सभी कक्षाओं के लिए क्यू आर कोडेड किताबों की घोषणा की है।

रणजीत सिंह डिसले गुरूजी को प्रौद्योगिकी में उनके अभिनव प्रयोगोंके लिए दुनिया भर में जाना जाता है। वे ऑन लाइन विडियो काॅन्फरंसिंग के माध्यम से दुनिया भर के विभिन्न स्कूलों के बच्चों का मार्गदर्शन करते है।डिसले गुरूजी 'व्हर्चुअल फील्ड ट्रिप' नामक एक अनोखी शिक्षण पद्धति के माध्यम से 150 से अधिक देशों के स्कूलों में विज्ञान पढ़ाते है। कक्षा में बैठे हुए बच्चे विश्व भ्रमण करते हैं।

लेट्स क्राॅस द बाॅर्डर 

डिसले गुरूजी द्वारा चलाया जाने वाला ऐसा हि एक कार्यक्रम है 'लेट्स क्राॅस द बाॅर्डर', जिसके तहत आपस में लडनेवाले आठ देशों से 50,000 विद्यार्थियों को चुना गया। ये आठ देश है भारत, पाकिस्तान, इराक, ईरान, इस्राइल, पॅलेस्टाईन, USA और उत्तर कोरिया। लेट्स क्राॅस द बाॅर्डर कार्यक्रम सात सप्ताहोंतक चलता है। प्रथम सप्ताह में बच्चों को अपने peace buddy का चयन करके आपस में बातचीत और परिचय करना होता है। दूसरे सप्ताह में बच्चे इस बात पर चर्चा करते हैं कि हमारे देश आपस में क्यों लड रहे हैं। तीसरे सप्ताह में वे अपने दोनों देशों में क्या समानताएं और विषमताएं हैं इसकी चर्चा करते हैं। चौथे सप्ताह में बच्चों की बातचीत ऐसे देशों के शिक्षकों से कराई जाती है जहाँ शांतिपूर्ण वातावरण है। पाँचवें सप्ताह में दोनों देशों के बीच की समस्या का समाधान ढूंढ़ने की कोशिश की जाती है। छठे सप्ताह में बच्चों से पूँछा जाता है कि वे आगे इस संबंध को बरकरार रखना चाहते हैं या नहीं। सातवें सप्ताह में समस्या के समाधान के लिए बच्चे की तरफ से क्या पहल होगी इसकी चर्चा होती है। इसप्रकार यह कार्यक्रम दो अशांत देशों के बीच शांतिपूर्ण संबंध स्थापित करने का एक अनूठा प्रयोग है।

केवल बत्तिस वर्ष की आयु में शिक्षण क्षेत्र में किये हुए इन अभिनव प्रयोगों के लिए रणजीत सिंह डिसले गुरूजी को इस वर्ष 2020 में वैश्विक शिक्षक पुरस्कार दिया गया। 

पुरस्कार राशि का विभाजन 

वैश्विक शिक्षक पुरस्कार की कुल राशि है दस लाख डॉलर अर्थात लगभग 7 करोड़ 38 लाख रुपये। डिसले गुरूजी ने इस राशि का आधा हिस्सा अपने साथ के नौ रनर अपस् में बाँट दी। उद्देश्य यह था कि अपने भारत के साथ साथ उन नौ देशों में भी शिक्षण सुधार का कार्य आगे बढ़ता रहे।      

संपूर्ण विश्व को अपनी क्लास रूम समझने वाले रणजीत सिंह डिसले गुरूजी को सैल्यूट। 'अपनी कक्षा में केवल user नही तो creator तैयार होने चाहिए' यह उनकी इच्छा अवश्य ही पूर्ण हो ऐसी शुभेच्छा।

Global teacher, Mr. Ranjit Singh Disale

On 3 December 2020, the hearts of all Indians were filled with joy and the foreheads held high with pride.  On this day, an Indian teacher, Mr. Ranjit Singh Disale was awarded the Global Teacher Award.  Mr.  Ranjit Singh Disale teaches elementary classes at Zilha Parishad school in Partewadi village in Solapur district, Maharashtra.  All the villagers address him as "Disale Guruji".  Before talking about his work, let us get to know about the Global Teacher Award.

Global teacher award

The Global teacher award is given by UNESCO and the Varkey Foundation to excellent teachers who have made outstanding contributions in the field of education.  The Varkey Foundation's motto is 'Changing life through education.'  The aim of the Varke Foundation is to provide quality education to every child of the world by promoting the capacity and quality of teachers.

Founder of Varkey Foundation, Sunny Varke is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.  His parents were teachers.  The Varkey Foundation is a partner of UNESCO, UNICEF and many other global organizations.  After surveying the public status of teachers around the world, the Global Teacher Award of one million dollars was started by the Varkey Foundation.

Ranjit Singh Disale: Introduction

Ranjit Singh's father is a retired headmaster and mother a homemaker. He had a desire to become an IT engineer.  He got admission in the engineering college of Solapur, but due to the ragging there, he left engineering. Then he got admission for D. Ed.  After finishing a course of two and a half years, he was appointed as a teacher in Solapur Zilla Parishad's Partewadi Primary School.  At that time, he was only 20 years old.

Guruji's efforts to spread education

The condition of Partevadi Primary School was extremely pathetic.  There was neither a kind of building nor the presence of students.  He asked for a laptop from his father as a birthday present that year.  On this laptop, he started showing their favorite movies to the students, which attracted them towards the school.  As the attendance of the students increased, Disale Guruji started making audio and video of the lessons and poems of the textbooks and showing them so that the students developed interest in studies.

People were not interested in education of girls, so Disale Guruji went house to house to inspire people to send girls to school.  In the last ten years, due to increase in the education of girls, the rate of child marriages in Partewadi and surrounding villages has decreased.

Under 'Alarm on TV off' program, an alarm rings at seven o'clock in the evening in Paratewadi.  This is the time for parents to sit with children and perform the work given by Guruji, which is associated with children's education.  Thus illiterate parents also understood the importance of children's education.

Seeing the bar codes on the items in the shops, Guruji had an idea of QR codes on textbooks. He translated English books into the mother tongue and added the technique of QR CODE so that the students could attend the video lectures.  These books were first used in his school and then into 300 schools in nearby villages.  QR coded books made by Disale Guruji are used by more than 100 million children in 11 countries today.  Now Maharashtra government and NCERT have announced QR coded books for all classes.

Ranjit Singh Disale Guruji is known worldwide for his innovative experiments in technology.  He guides children from various schools across the world through online video conferencing. Disale Guru teaches science in schools in more than 150 countries through a unique teaching method called 'Virtual Field Trip'. He takes his students for a world tour just sitting in the classroom.

Let's cross the border

One of the program, run by Disley Guruji is 'Let's Cross the Border', under which 50,000 students were selected from eight countries which fight with each other.  These eight countries are India, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Palestine, USA and North Korea.  'Let's cross the border' program lasts for seven weeks.  In the first week, children have to interact and introduce themselves by choosing their peace buddy.  In the second week, children discuss why our countries are fighting among themselves.  In the third week they discuss the similarities and differences between their two countries.  In the fourth week, children's conversations are held with teachers from countries where there is a peaceful environment.  In the fifth week, an attempt is made to find a solution to the problem between the two countries.  In the sixth week, children are asked if they want to continue this relationship.  In the seventh week, there will be a discussion on what will be the initiative of the child to solve the problem.  Thus, this program is a unique experiment to establish peaceful relations between two troubled countries.

Ranjit Singh Disale Guruji was given the Global Teacher Award in 2020 this year for these innovative experiments done in the field of education at the age of thirty-two only.

Distribution of prize money 

The total amount of the Global Teacher Award is one million dollars i.e. about 7 crore 38 lakh rupees.  Disale Guruji distributed half of this amount to his nine runner-ups.  The aim was that, along with India, the work of education reform should continue in those nine countries also.

Salute to Ranjit Singh Disale Guruji, who considers the whole world as his class room. He doesn't want to create only users. He wants that in his classroom, creators should be made. My good wishes for the fulfillment of his desire.
